How would you describe yourself?
Confident woman who loves comfortable fashion and wears what makes me feel good
How long have you been involved in your business?
I have been in direct sales for over 30 yrs, with almost 14 in the fashion accessories field
(I landed at my current company in the summer of 2016 after the company I was with suddenly closed without warning)
What keeps you motivated?
Several things keep me motivated, probably seeing others enjoy the taste of success would rank as a top motivator.
Tell us a little about your family.
Been with my hubby 43 yrs (married 37) have an amazing son and daughter in love and two grandsons and two furkids
How do you prioritize family and your business?
Choosing to be an entrepreneur, I have the freedom and flexibility to work my business without making sacrifices to the needs of my family. It’s about time management and focus.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Having my mobile boutique business still sharing my love of beautiful fashion.. and having the ability to relocate to be closer to my grandchildren
Biggest life lesson learned?
Those who personally know me know there are a few things I say often especially to newer consultants on my team. “Stop worrying about what has not happened yet, live today. Do something today that will make another smile. Go with your gut on any opportunity it’s usually right and when something tragic happens in your life, stop and just breathe for a few moments and listen to the life lesson that is in front of you.
Biggest lesson you’ve learned in business?
You can not make others work like you do, their passion is not your passion it might be similar but will never be like yours. You have to listen to the needs of others you surround yourself with to grow a successful team
What is your secret to success?
Not pushing product, it’s about building a strong relationship with someone first ~ that and LISTENING.
All Entrepreneurs encounter bad days. How do you handle yours?
Go off the grid. Turn off technology and get outside and recharge with fresh air the beauty of being outdoors and take time to think about whatever the situation is… and when I “might” feel inclined to respond emotionally, ill email my feelings to myself to release it
What was your sweetest success story?
Overall in my direct sales career, earning a trip incentive. I’ve always wanted to go to Italy and with the help of my (then) team and with a lot of obstacles, I earned it (I didn’t go had a bigger priority happening in my family so I cashed out but it was such a sense of accomplishment.)
With my new company and team, I had a mental goal of hitting 15K in team volume in our first 5 months – new company smaller team and we hit 25K totally exceeded my expectations.
How do you relax?
Turn off technology at least once a day for an hour, read a book, watch a movie with hubby or go for a cruise in our hot rod.
Please finish this sentence: If it wasn’t for my direct sales business, I wouldn’t have been able to… meet so many beautiful women from around the country. Doing what I do I have made life long friends with women I would have never met had it not been for my job choice.
